Eastern Group and ASUS (2357) Intelligent Cloud Services (AICS) have signed a memorandum of understanding for cooperation today (16th). In the future, ASUS’ advanced AI technology solutions will be applied to Eastern’s media, retail, and cultural creative business entities. It will be used for the integration of Online to Offline (O2O) domain data, application of hardware and software resources, as well as the creation of an international smart innovation industry in the highly competitive global new media and new retail market.
Gary Wang, founder of the Eastern Group, said that the media brands operated by Eastern in the past, ranging from cable TV MSO, Eastern Television (EETV), ETMall, and ETtoday, have all been long-term investments and leads the development of the innovative industries. Eastern has established itself as a new business model for the innovative new media and new retail sector, winning the trust of consumers. The digital cloud is both a challenge and an opportunity for media.
Gary Wang pointed out that 5G, AI, and AR will change consumer lifestyles. This time, the Group chose to become a partner with ASUS in the hopes that ASUS’ expertise in the AI field can be leveraged to improve big data. In the future, we hope to fully integrate the soft power and hardware to share Taiwan’s cultural innovation, entertainment, music, and IP sectors with the rest of the world. Eastern and ASUS will join hands to create an international cooperation and exchange platform, leading Taiwanese brands to stand on the global stage together.

Huang Tai-yi, ASUS Global CVP and CTO, and Head of ASUS Intelligent Cloud Services, said that ASUS Intelligent Cloud Services (AICS) will provide full assistance to Eastern Group in the planning of a smart industry blueprint, and build the internal data center of the enterprise. Through advanced AI core technologies such as computer vision (CV), automated speech recognition (ASR), and natural language processing (NLP), it will aggregate and structurally transform the massive amount of data of various business entities to form a substantial and practical data gold mine.
Huang Tai-yi said that it will provide the enterprise with favorable momentum in terms of consumer insight, service optimization, and business opportunity development, so that point data can realize the potential of e-commerce, and even become an influencing force for cross-domain innovation. For example, it will integrate online media and shopper activities, as well as the foot traffic in offline physical stores and product information analysis, in order to establish user profiles, and achieve data-driven customer segmentation and precision marketing.

ASUS Intelligent Cloud Services (AICS) brings together Taiwanese and international professionals in the field of AI to learn more about the needs of enterprises with a rigorous software culture. It is expected that with the introduction of ASUS voice recognition technology in the future, it will be able to further improve the quality of member services and successfully guide customers online and offline.
