All industries and sectors have been impacted since last year due to the pandemic. After the outbreak of the pandemic in May this year, all industries have been struggling, and many businesses and members of the public are unable to make ends meet. This has led them to turn their efforts into starting a side business. Many legal entities and market analysts are optimistic about the unique direct selling e-commerce business model of Eastern Commerce Company (Eckare), which is thriving despite this pandemic that has devastated the Taiwanese economy. Eckare has become the star business with the greatest growth potential under the Eastern Group. Gary Wang, Chairman of Eckare, has continuously promoted the opportunities brought by the stay-at-home economy. People can make money at home without going out through the direct selling e-commerce model, putting an end to the economic siege. The company also announced that it will challenge the NT$10 billion sales mark this year, and that its revenue will reach $50 billion by 2025.
Under the helm of Chairman Gary Wang, General Manager Chen Mei-Chi, CEO Charley Kuo, and Managing Sales CEO Wang Shih-Chun, Eckare’s revenue for 2021 exceeded NT$400 million in April, climbed to a new high of NT$761 million in May, and broke another record with a performance that surpassed NT$1.05 billion in June. This represents a MoM growth of 38.7% and 591.6% YoY. From January to June 2021, the sales performance reached NT$2.8 billion, a YoY growth of 399%. The number of new members exceeded 10,699 in June, breaking a 30-year record in the direct selling industry. General Manager Chen Mei-Chi also added that the first half of the year was boosted by the excellent business platform of the Eastern Group, which enabled Eckare to achieve outstanding results. However, in the second half of the year, the company “began from the first place,” using its first place position in both growth and in the industry to embrace the new business landscape. The key to Eckare’s victory was to upgrade its business model, update the development model and topics, develop new groups and create energy through four innovative strategies, including new positioning, new demands, new models, and new markets, in order to break the deadlock of fierce cross-border competition of the current stage. The company has also proposed the concept of “social circle e-commerce” to encourage distributors to cultivate a loyal fanbase, so that they can continue to achieve an outstanding performance without being limited by the current situation.
In addition to its thriving business development, Eckare has not forgotten its social responsibility, continuing the Eastern Group’s spirit of “giving back to society what was taken from society.” From the perspective of “altruism,” Eckare has developed innovative business models and creative operation models to enable both consumers and distributors to receive bonuses and profits when shopping on the Eckare platform. In the spirit of “others do business, Eastern does public welfare,” Eckare has remained committed and involved in charitable activities. Chairman Gary Wang of Eckare said: “We are extremely grateful for the trust and love that consumers have shown to the Eastern brand, and we are filled with gratitude and thankfulness for the results we have achieved in the 42 months since we entered the direct selling industry. Eastern is also actively involved in the pandemic prevention work, cooperating with the central and local governments to invest resources and contribute to their efforts. Products of Eckare have won the Excellence in Quality Award at the 2021 Asian-Pacific Award for Quality in the Beauty Industry and have received the recognition from the Belgian Monde Selection Quality Awards. These are the resources that Eastern has accumulated over a long period of time. It is only with a solid brand foundation that our performance can soar.”
Since the establishment of Eckare, the company has been actively working with the Eastern Charity Foundation of Eastern Group to send love and care to every corner of society. From January to May this year, in view of the worsening pandemic situation and the urgent need for assistance for frontline medical workers, police, and firefighters, as well as for the disadvantaged families in Taiwan, Eckare donated a total of NT$18 million to assist healthcare personnel and disadvantaged groups in the spirit of helping our nation. Eckare also donated 1,000 sets of protective clothing to the Tri-Service General Hospital on June 7. In May, the Group also took the lead in donating NT$10 million to the Taipei City and New Taipei City governments. The Group also donated Dragon Boat Festival holiday dishes to 38 public welfare organizations, including the Sanxia Veterans Home this May, and donated down jackets before the Lunar New Year this year. Eckare has been actively involved in public welfare activities throughout the years, and continues to lead its team of distributors to send love throughout Taiwan. Eckare hopes to protect Taiwan and to help the disadvantaged with the power of continuous good deeds. We stand together with the people of Taiwan. We will continue to give back to society and to encourage the people of this great nation to fight against the pandemic.
