ET New Media Holdings celebrated the 9th anniversary of ETtoday Co., Ltd. and the 2nd birthday of ETtoday Pets today (11/9). In response to ETtoday’s recent record-high traffic and number of followers, and its position as the leading new media outlet, Gary Wang, chairman of ET New Media Holdings, thanked its 20 million fans for their support. In addition, Wang also took up the role as a “master chef” and tried out the celebratory dishes prepared by the contestants of Taiwan’s top cooking show “CooKing.” He also declared that he will continue to work hard to produce more quality programs and contents for public daily entertainment!
Wang said that 2020 has been a very fruitful year for ET New Media Holdings. First, according to the “Digital News Report” published by the Reuters Institute for the Study of Journalism, University of Oxford, ETtoday has been ranked first place in Taiwan for “online media usage” and “online media trust” for three consecutive years. Furthermore, the company won the “Outstanding Enterprise” and “Outstanding Leadership” categories at the 20th Golden Pinnacle Awards in September. In October, ET New Media Holdings won the 17th National Brand Yushan Award for “Outstanding Enterprise” and “Most Popular Brand,” and also became the first company to win the first prize for “Outstanding Enterprise” and “Most Popular Brand.” These awards demonstrate that ET New Media Holdings has received full recognition across all sectors and has become the top new media outlet!
Wang said that since the founding of ETtoday, it has faced a period of sudden changes in the media industry. The rise of the Internet has led to the rise of social media, videos, and live streaming, with media advertising shifting to digital, outdoor, and interactive technology, and the environment is still constantly evolving. ETtoday has constantly reinvented itself to become the most innovative, influential, trusted, and proudest global Chinese-speaking new media in Taiwan through the efforts of its personnel. The company is currently the number one new media and its out-of-home advertising has a 69% share in Taiwan’s transportation and travel traffic volume. In addition, in response to the change in lifestyle caused by the pandemic this year, ET New Media Holdings has joined hands with QT Entertainment to create “CooKing,” Taiwan’s first cooking reality show, so that people can learn how to cook at home with ease.
“CooKing” contestants were specially invited to the celebration of ETtoday’s 9th anniversary and the 2nd birthday of ETtoday Pets. ETtoday President Wang, who has been making “Breakfasts Made of Love” for indigenous tribal communities and occasionally cooks at home, became a master chef at the event to taste and review the dishes. Contestant Ryan Yu presented the showstopper dish “Forever in Harmony, Beyond Expectations,” which awed President Wang, who said that the dish was not only auspicious, but also extremely delicious. Huang Jung-Jung, the only female contestant at the event, presented a traditional Burmese rice dish, which fully demonstrated the spirit of “CooKing” to embrace all culinary cultures. Finally, Jeff Shih, the son of Taiwanese master chef Shih Chien-Fa, paired a basil tart with aged white wine vinegar as a symbol of blessing for the continuous success of ETtoday. The dedication of the contestants successfully won over the taste buds of the master chef—not only did Gary Wang give them a thumbs up, it also pushed the ETtoday anniversary celebration to its highest point!
Looking back, ETtoday has always remained committed to providing service to its followers and readers, and constantly researches and provides innovative contents and services. In 2020, ETtoday stayed on trend with the reading habits of young people nowadays and launched an online podcast that covers content ranging from buying cars and houses, global events, social news, to military weapons, so that its audience can keep up-to-date on the news by listening anytime and anywhere. In the future, ET New Media Holdings will continue to pursue the goal of “building the world’s No. 1 Chinese-speaking new media,” stay on trend, and launch content that meets the times and the needs of the audience!
