Pet Group/Press Release
With the spread of the novel coronavirus across the world, the health of the population is under the care of virus prevention experts and medical professionals. ETtoday Pets, a subsidiary under Eastern Media International Corporation (2614), is dedicated to guarding the health of your pets during the pandemic. With the professionalism of ETtoday Pets gaining the public’s trust, it performed exceptionally well in the first month of 2020, with the monthly revenue reaching a new high!
Mel Chen, chairman and general manager of ETtoday Pets, said after the company announced that it had 91 stores (including the Oscar Pet chain stores) at the end of last year and became the largest pet store network in Taiwan, its sales performance exceeded expectations in the first month of 2020. According to the profit and loss report of ETtoday Pets, after a significant expansion and consolidation, the store has achieved monthly profitability in just 14 months since its establishment in 2018, and its revenue in January 2020 exceeded NT$160 million, an increase of 14% over the previous month and over 700% over the same period last year. Among which, more than 10 of the 91 stores also achieved record revenues in recent years. The outstanding performance of ETtoday Pets has launched it into the leading position in the pet industry.

Mel Chen said that January 2020 coincided with Chinese New Year, and many pet owners made use of the annual holiday to buy food, supplies, and grooming products for their fur-babies, resulting in the performance boom in the pet industry. The single-day revenue on the day before New Year’s Eve was more than double the daily average. Secondly, ETtoday Pets continuously served customers with a friendly, professional, and dedicated attitude, which is also the main reason for earning the trust of the owners in such a short period of time. For example, the enhanced cleaning of the store during the pandemic, setting up an exclusive pet sanitization section to sell deodorization and sanitizing products, ETtoday Pets organizing nearly a hundred pet health checks, or the community-friendly “Little Store Manager” and pet seminars all enabled ETtoday Pets rapid rise to fame in the pet industry and winning the hearts of consumers.
