Eastern Invests 10 Billion in Linkou International Media Park, Striving for Group Revenue to Exceed 130 Billion in 2024

Eastern Media International Corporation made a major announcement today (25th). It will invest NT$10 billion in the Linkou International Media Park. In addition to setting up the Eastern Global Operations Headquarters, it will also integrate related companies under the Group, including ET New Media Holdings and ETMall, to create the Eastern Lifestyle Circle. The target for group-related revenue in 2024 is to exceed NT$130 billion.

Eastern Media International Corporation bid for the Linkou International Media Park Base B project,  and officially received the letter of notification for winning the tender from the New Taipei City Government Economic Development Department today. Gary Wang, founder of the Eastern Group said that Eastern operated media brands in the past, ranging from cable TV MSO, Eastern Television (EETV), ETMall, to ETtoday. In the future, it will invest NT$10 billion in the Linkou International Media Park, with the expectation of bringing Taiwan ’s cultural, creative, entertainment, music, and IP industries on to the international stage.

Liao Shang-wen, chairman of Eastern Media International Corporation, said that Linkou International Media Park combines Linkou Startup Terrace and innovative industry clusters in the industrial zone, and its geographical location is close to the Taoyuan Airport MRT A9 Station. All of these factors give it numerous advantages in the development of media internationalization and the establishment of a Southeast Asia AI talent center. In the future, the Linkou International Media Park will provide industries or public associations related to AI, 5G, IOT to set up office space. Eastern will also cooperate with the Taiwan AI Academy, AsusTek Computer Inc., and Quanta Computer lnc. to create an international cooperation and exchange platform, and become an incubator in the AI smart  creative park.

In addition, the IP “Jungle Voice”, developed by ET New Media Holdings, is popular among young people at home and abroad. In the future, Linkou International Media Park will host various concerts and large-scale events for family entertainment and for young people to participate in, so that they can experience the digital cultural and interactive entertainment technology in person. A park that is full of smart technology and fun will be created to close the distance between the industrial park and consumers, and promote the development of the local lifestyle circle. Linkou International Media Park will reach a height of 189 meters, together with the 250-meter Linkou Plateau, the total height will reach 439 meters, offering excellent views and becoming a new attention-grabbing landmark.

According to the financial report, the total revenue of related companies of Eastern Group in 2019 is estimated to be NT$30.2 billion, with a profit of NT$970 million. In recent years, it has expanded its subsidiary layout, internationalized its market, and acquired Natural Beauty, Strawberrynet, and ETtoday Pets. In addition to the development of the channels, it has successfully transformed and developed product brands and content IP, moving towards big healthcare and big cosmetics industries and establishing the Eastern Lifestyle Circle. It is estimated that by 2024, revenue related to the Group will exceed NT$130 billion and profits will exceed NT$14 billion.
