The 54th Golden Bell Awards was held at the Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Memorial Hall on the evening of the 5th. Many celebrities were in attendance and dazzling the scene with their star power. The winners of each award category were revealed, among them, the “Best Variety Programme” Award was jointly handed out by Tai Chih-yuan, Kuo Chi-chien, and Honduras together, and finally, “Jungle Voice” was announced as the winner!
When Gary Wang went up on stage to receive the award, he first thanked the panel of judges for their recognition. He also thanked James Chan, Wang Wei-chung, James Hsiao, and Yoga Lin for the success of “Jungle Voice”: “The young people of Taiwan haven’t seen a new singer for more than a decade. How can we help? Because of this desire, we invested 100 million to make this show.” Finally, Gary Wang called out, “We will work even harder in the future, thank you everyone, thank you.”
Taiwan’s classic singing competitions are making a comeback! Co-produced by QT Entertainment and Golden Star Entertainment, and released by ETtoday, “Jungle Voice” was shortlisted for the Golden Bell Awards for the first time. The show also invited James Hsiao and Yoga Lin, artists discovered on the well-known television singing competition “One Million Star”, to serve as lead mentors, while Xiao Yu took on the role as singing instructor, and Lulu Huang was the host for the show. In addition, well-known artists Rainie Yang, Wilber Pan, Lala Hsu, and Harlem Yu took turns to act as the show’s guest mentors. With the impressive lineup of judges and mentors, the show received a lot of attention as soon as it aired.
The show was led by James Hsiao and Yoga Lin, while a guest mentor was invited to each episode to serve as a judge. Themes such as “The Weak Will Fall as Prey to the Strong”, “The Other Jungle”, “Survival of the Fittest”, and “Fight of the Cornered Beasts” represent different forms of competition. Through the increasingly more exciting forms of competition, the final champion is selected. “Jungle Voice” was not only shortlisted for Best Variety Program Award in this year’s Golden Bell Awards, it was also shortlisted for the Best Host in a Variety Program Award and Creative Program Award, becoming the finalist for three categories in its first season.
